This week at Simons Says Stamp the challenge is an Easter project. I few months ago I stumbled upon some great plaid papers in the Clearance Rack at Hobby Lobby. I knew I wanted to incorporate them into the challenge. The plaid papers come from Echo Park and from The Paper Studio. The little chickies come from the Lawn Fawn Science of Love. The sentiment comes from the Verve Chicks Rule stamp set. A strip of Pink Pirouette and a floral punched from a EK Success punch complete the card.

So I am happy to say I actually made time this week for a sketch challenge. I can't remember the last time I was able to do one in time to submit. I love the triangle shape of this week's Freshly Made Sketch. I thought the Tailored Tag would make a good vintage background. So then as soon as I did that I knew I had to pull out the Jukebox Birthday for the occasion. The colors are Daffodil Delight, Watermelon Wonder and Wild Wasabi. A strip of Stacked with Love designer series paper, rhinestones and baker's twine complete the card.

So if you haven't checked out The Project Bin. It is a must now. Denise the founder and designer of the stamp line is knocking it out of the park with her amazing designs. She just came out with a new set called Deer Mom. It has so many beautiful sentiments for mother's day. I decided to incorporate them on a scrapbook page featuring my mom. How great is the sentiment, Out of all the moms in the word, I'm so glad you're mine. I have a picture of my mom with all her kids and grandkids. I just love these photos.
The page background is Pink Pirouette card stock layered with Dear Lizzy Lovely Day designer paper, Calypso Coral card stock. Dear Lizzy alphabet stickers, rhinestones, twine and sequins complete the project.

So I had a few thank you cards that had to go out. I knew I wanted to use the Lots of Lavender stamp set. It is by far one of my favorites that I earned during Sale-a-bration. I colored in the florals with my Stampin' Blends. The sentiment comes from the Heartfelt Bloom stamp set and it was heat embossed. The designer series paper comes from Stacked with Love. I colored in my Perfect Accents with my Sharpies and the card was complete.

So I spent the weekend cleaning up and organizing my craft area. Two long and exhausting days. I can't remember the last time I did this. It's been over two years of just dumping things if not more of piles just being dumped and not looked at. I had over 6 garbage bags when I was done along with piles and piles to donate, give aways and eventually sell. I have come to the conclusion, I am a craft supply hoarder. I did learn something in the end. I need to start crafting and creating. No holding back.
Part of the disarray is that I move all my essentials and favorites upstairs. The temperature controls are better upstairs. I also can watch tv while crafting and I also get to craft anytime inspiration hits. I don't have to worry about the temperature warming up or cooling down.
Here is the craft area upstairs.
Followed by my craft storage area downstairs.
I even found a great way to handle all my buttons and brads that I am no longer using. I put them in baskets and in 12x12 craft holders. It brings me peace in being able to locate them faster and they look so neat in a row.
Lastly, I even took odd and ends I am not using and made a craft area for the kids. They have their own dedicated area so when they come over they can use whatever is in this corner. All my good stuff is on high shelves and put away.

So I had a little fun in making some tags and then turning them into card. Here is the Boldly Believe stamp set from Unity. I layered it on top of Coffee Break designer series paper and strip of Paper Studio designer series paper. I then took the same tag and turned it into a card by just adding layers of white card stock and dimensionals along with a sentiment from the Colorful Seasons stamp set.

So the last project for today is my You are Amazing card. It is made with the Jillibean Soup Friends stamp sets. It has so many cute images and amazing sentiments. I first watercolored my background with the Fired Brick and Wilted Violet distress inks. I love the red and purple shades together. I heat embossed the diamonds in gold. The sentiment was embossed in white. Sequins, silver thread and rhinestones add bling to the card. Strip of designer series paper from The Paper Studio completes the card.

So here is a cute stamp set I got from Hampton Art called Reach for the Sky. So many fun images, but by far one of my favorites is the little bear inside the hot air balloon. So cute!!
The first thing was the water color background with my Soft Sky ink refill and aqua painters. Next I stamped the balloon image. I then stamped the balloon on a seperate piece of card stock and proceeded to paper pierce it and color it in with my Copic markers. I then cut it out and attached it to the watercolor paper. The butterflies and clouds were stamped and the paper pierced as well. Two strips of cards for the background and sequins complete the card.

One of my favorite things to do is make my own striped backgrounds. Sometimes we get lucky and get the perfect paper for our projects but for the most part we don't always get so lucky. Here I made my own background with my Worn Lipstick and Fired Brick Distress Oxide pads. I used my post its to make my masks to sponge in the stripes. I diecut my Heart. The rose and the sentiment come from the Hampton Art Roses Layering set. I stamped the first rose in my Strawberry Slush. I stamped off on a sheet of paper first and then stamped the rose for my finished product. I like the lighter shade for this and it matched the Worn Lipstick by stamping off first. The top outline was stamped in Poppy Parade. Lastly leaves were stamped in Pear Pizzazz and Old Olive. Sequins and Baker's Twine complete the card.
So the last scrapbook page for today is my niece getting her sugar fix in with a huge cotton candy at last year's Halloween festivities. I first watercolored the background with my Blushing Bride and Melon Mambo ink refills and my Aqua Painter. Then came the came the Jillibean White Alpha Tile The Best of Jillibean Paper and Melon Mambo and Blushing Bride card stock add to the layers of the scrapbook page. I stamped images from the Jillibean Soup Sweet Moment stamp set. Hearts and Pennants were punched. Sequins and rhinestones add to the bling of the page.

For the last couple of years my parents have completely enjoyed taking a cruise from NY City to the Caribbean. Last year we got this picture text to us. We don't usually get texts so to get a picture text was even more impressive!! Wow technology at it's best. They got someone to take a picture with the Statue of Liberty behind them. Love my tourists. So here is my page made with The Best of Jillibean Soup designer paper collection and the Sightseeing Stew stamp set.

I got this great scrapbook kit from Jillibean Soup called Spicy Social Soup. It is just perfect for all your Social Media posts.
My niece is a big fan of Snapchat. I on the other hand have two Snapchat followers her and a cousin. You have to be on the ball when you open Snapchat. One minute the conversation is there and the next minute it is gone. I am always prepared ready to do a screen shot because I know the next time I go in it maybe gone. I know it sounds silly but I am a picture hoarder. I know how precious memories are and once the person and the moment is gone. It is truly gone. You don't get them back. I come from the days when you got maybe a handful of pictures from your youth. Not an handful daily like today.
The diecuts and paper come from the Spicy Social Soup collection. The camera was stamped from the Sightseeing Stew stamp set. Enamel dots complete the page.

So here is a page that I am super proud of. I totally made the background paper with my Distress Oxide pads. I sponged on the background with the Peeled Paint, Iced Spruce and Faded Jeans ink. I then sprayed some water and heat it. Next I took some star images from Sweet Stamp Shop Happy Hour and heat embossed them. The moon was die cut from the retired Adventure Bound designer series paper. The black and white star paper comes from Merry Little Christmas Designer Series Paper. The Star Wars images come from Disney paper.
The page showcases my nephew with his amazing Star Wars Legos he so proudly built. How great is that Millennium Falcon. I can't believe that the pictures were taken a year apart and how much he changed in a year.

So how great are these pictures of my niece. She had to be about 3 years old. She started doing dance classes in her pre-school. She was just absolutely so cute in her tutu and little ballerina slippers. She loved showing off her dance moves. So I just had to create this page with her being a super star. The images and sentiments were stamped from the amazing Jillibean Soup Super Star stamp set and die. The designer series paper is The Best of Jillibean Soup. I stamped the images in Sweet Sugarplum and Basic Black. I absolutely love the sugarplum and grey color scheme. It is just so girly and she is my little super star.
